Meet the 2022 Miss Destin

October is officially here and with that comes the famous, Destin Fishing Rodeo! The Destin Fishing Rodeo is Destin's longest-running tradition. The event is a month-long fishing tournament that draws anglers from all over the United States to Destin in October to compete for prizes and bragging rights for landing the biggest fish. A special tradition during the Fishing Rodeo includes Miss Destin. The beautiful and amazing 2022 Miss Destin will reign over the 74th annual Destin Fishing Rodeo. This includes representing during the weigh-ins every day during the month-long event. We are thrilled to feature this year's Miss Destin, Ella Kathryn Campbell.

On September 22nd the community came together to attend the annual Meet Miss Destin event at the Harbor Docks Restaurant on the Destin harbor. The event was filled with happy faces and excitement for Miss Destin and the Destin Fishing Rodeo. The community had their second chance to meet Miss Destin on September 30th for the fishing rodeo kick-off party at AJ’s Seafood and Oyster Bar. The event was a great time, filled with energized Destin natives enthusiastic for the Destin Fishing Rodeo.

Campbell has lived in Destin for the majority of her life. Today, she is a senior at Fort Walton Beach High School. In addition to her busy schedule as a student and Miss Destin, Campbell is involved in various school activities such as Lady Vikings and Leadership class. Inspired by her love for fishing and Destin, Campbell plans to study Marine Biology after high school. Outside of school and her many extracurriculars, Campbell enjoys attending church and horseback riding. Aside from the Destin Fishing Rodeo, you can find Miss Destin at the Christmas Parade and Big Truck Day to name a few.

Miss Destin, Ella Kathryn Campbell is ready to serve at the 74th annual Destin Fishing Rodeo. If you would like to snap a photo with Miss Destin, she will be easily found near the weigh-ins. The rodeo scales, located on the barge behind AJ's, open at 10 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. However, if boats are in line at 7 p.m., the scales will remain open.
